I want my team to be in the new wave of breakthrough drugs for multiple sclerosis. I’ve worked in this field for more than
30 years. Now I’m at a stage in my career when I want to contribute to a lasting legacy.
We’ve developed a range of advanced tools to test a new generation of MS drugs that will hopefully be more effective. More
effective in protecting the neural axons - the body’s ‘electrical wiring’ that carries signals from the brain - and in rebuilding
myelin, the ‘insulation’ around this wiring.
These drugs affect the underlying pathology of this terrible autoimmune disease so they have the potential to make a huge
difference. I love the intellectual challenge in research but in the end, what’s the bottom line? It’s helping people who
suffer.
